What is Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)?
Diversity: involving people from a range of different backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, status, etc.
Equity: providing people what they need to succeed by learning people's unique needs and seeking to understand how policies, practices and institutions affect people differently.
Inclusion: providing equal access to opportunities and resources for people who might otherwise be excluded.
Why is DEI important?
Diversity, equity and inclusion is connected to our mission and critical to ensure the well-being of our staff, families and the communities we serve. Differences in lived experiences and points of view allow us to better understand our diverse clients and customers, create innovative solutions to problems and imagine new opportunities.
